A little diversion [29 Oct 2010|03:30am]

[ mood | amused ]

Charlie Chaplin is trending on twitter by the way, which I find pretty amusing.

It is of course, all in regards to the whole time traveling cell phone user.

However, why not, it might actually introduce some people to his films ;)

Chaplin Merchandise [09 Oct 2009|04:05pm]

Hey all, I've been a member here for awhile, but never really posted..... >_<

But I was just curious, does anyone know of any legit websites, that have Chaplin merchandise, specifically apparel, like t-shirts. I wish I could make my own stuff, but alas, I lack those kinds of skills. ^^;;

Thanks, if you can help.

last week's chaplin moments from london [24 Aug 2009|08:16am]

here are my three chaplin moments during the last week. the first one was meeting little chuckles on leicester square where some nearly 30 years ago they unveiled a sculplure of the little fellow -- who looks nothing like his counterpart, except for the mustache. the second chaplin-moment, was finding a poster advert vor victoria chaplin and her husband's invisible circus. and the third moment was paying a little visit to the duke of york's theatre in the west end (just around the corner from the wyndham's). here ickle chuckles played billy the page boy in the gillette adaptation of sherlock holmes. -- my three comrades, mary, ellie and alex bore these moments of spontaneous public fangirling like brave soldiers.

here be picturesCollapse )

making the most of ebay [20 Jul 2009|10:40pm]

today the three books i won on ebay about a week ago finally showed up on my doorstep. my dear fellow chaplinistas and chaplinists, do buy second-hand books about chuckles on ebay. the auctioneers clearly have no idea about the actual worth of some of their articles. especially when they date back to the 1920s and include first issues and such!!!

clickety-click for picture treasure.

Charlie art [12 May 2009|12:54am]

[ mood | chipper ]

Hello everyone! I've been lurking for awhile, but this is my first post here. I made something I'd like to share with you all...

I'm a design major about to enter my third year of studies, and I've been playing around with different typography techniques lately. Today, I used a style that I'm growing quite fond of to pay a bit of a tribute to the little fellow :)

smile though your heart is aching...Collapse )

EDIT: wonderous discovery! if you watch this corss-eyed, it's almost like a 3D-film because the horizontally aligned frames differ by a few milliseconds.
